For those of you who watch "Animation Lookback", you know that AniMat will be doing Pixar next. I remembered that the first film I saw in theatres was "Finding Nemo", and I watched "Toy Story 2" a lot growing up, I think I have the VHS lying around somewhere. Anyway, Pixar has great movies with memorable characters, but in all of their movies, there is always that one scene that you want to fast forward past just so you don't cry. And that's what I'm counting down today, these are my top 9 saddest Pixar moments.

#9-The ending to "Monsters Inc."-I put this one so low on the list because I don't watch "Monsters Inc." a lot. I chose the ending because saying goodbye for the last time is always depressing. And, what makes it even more depressing, is that Sully's saying goodbye to a little 3-year-old who doesn't understand that she may never see him again. It's always more depressing with a little kid involved.

#8-Jessie's Flashback in "Toy Story 2"-After I saw these movies, I can't let my old toys go, because I'm afraid that they'll be sent to an evil daycare, or to a kid who enjoys blowing toys up!! But Jessie's flashback shows us the one thing toys dislike the most, the kid growing out of them. I've grown out of my Webkinz, but I keep them in a safe place in my closet, and since my room is a mess, I can't close the closet door, so I can look at them and remember the videos I made with them in the past. But, sadly, Jessie wasn't as lucky. She was shoved under a bed to be forgotten, and when the kid did find her, she donated her. This is why I still have my Littlest Pet Shops, my Webkinz, and my My Little Ponies.

#7-Opening to "Up"-God damn is this movie depressing!! I saw it twice in school, once in 6th grade, and once in 7th because we played a song from the movie, and each time, I teared up at the opening. Not only do we see Carl and Ellie not get a baby, but we also see Ellie pass away AND HER FUNERAL!!! I went to two funerals in a year, and even in a movie it's depressing!!! Pixar! I watch movies to cheer me up, NOT TO MAKE ME CRY EVEN MORE!!!

#6-Doc's Story from "Cars"-I know I bicker about my brother annoying me with this movie, but the only reason I enjoy it is because of Doc Hudson. It's not because he has the same name as another character I enjoy (*cough*Doc Brown*cough*) but because it shows another side to racing. My dad has been watching Nascar for as long as I can remember, and I never pay much attention unless there's a crash. Doc used to be a great racer, winning 3 Piston Cups, and being well know in the world of racing. Until in 1954, when he crashed and was out for a long time. When he got fixed, he went back, and they didn't greet him with open arms (or tires, it you will). He was kicked out of racing, and he said he would never race again. No matter if you like racing or not, Doc will always be the reason to watch, and to cry over.

#5-The Opening to "Finding Nemo"-Picture this, you're a 5-year-old, going to see your first movie in a theatre, while your dad's away on buisness. You sit down with your mom and sister, unable to stay still, and then . . . you witness the death of a clownfish, and most of her unborn kids. The father wakes up, only to find one egg, with a crack in it. Would you bawl your eyes out? That was my experience. I don't hate the movie for that, infact I enjoy it, but I still reflect to that memory when I see that scene.

#4-"Toy Story"-I'm counting the whole movie because it shows what your toys might feel when you get a new toy. After watching this movie, I feel weird when I buy a new toy, I think "Will he/she like it here?" and "How will the others react?" I know it sounds stupid, but that's how I feel. Anyway, I'm sure everyone has gotten a new toy, and stop playing with a toy they could never leave. I don't know, I just feel kind of sad for my old toys after seeing this movie.

#3-Andy's Goodbye from "Toy Story 3"-I'm pretty sure every teen going to college wants to play with the toys they loved one more time before facing the real world. I actually do that now and then. While I was cleaning, I pulled out a container full of the My Little Ponies I had. I took some out and remembered the good times I had with them. What makes this scene a little happier is that Andy knows his toys are going to a good home. One part that makes me tear up more is when Bonnie tries to hold Woody, but Andy pulls him away, and then realizes it time to let him go. *sniffle*

#2-WALL-E's Death from "WALL-E"-Oh God. Do I really have to explain? (Yes) Ok, toward the end of the movie, WALL-E is electricuted by Auto, and is knocked into the garbage disposle. When EVE finds him, he's just barely hanging on, and he can barely talk. Once WALL-E tells EVE that the parts to save him are on Earth, she hurries the plant to the . . . I don't remember what it was, I'm gonna call it a chamber. But, Auto begins to close the chamber, and WALL-E tries to keep it open. Auto forces the chamber to close, and WALL-E is crushed. Once they re-open the chamber and put the plant inside, everyone mourns WALL-E as they lightspeed to Earth. I can't believe Pixar made me cry over a robot!! But it's so sad anyway!!

#1-Doc Hudson's Memorial in "Cars 2"-As I said before, I like "Cars" because of Doc. But, in 2008, Paul Newman, the voice of Doc, sadly passed away. John Lasseter couldn't replace him, so, they decided to make a small moment to let the audience know Doc is no longer with our heros. And God, damn, is it the saddest few seconds I've seen in a Pixar movie. I'm tearing up while I'm typing this. I know that people don't like "Cars 2", but I only watch it for that one moment, that and Finn McMissile is pretty cool. It might not be Pixar's best, but the salute to a great actor and great character is good enough for me.

In memory of Paul Newman 1925-2008
I was thinking about sad moments from Pixar, so I made a list.
NOTE: I didn't add anything from "Ratatouille", "the Incredibles", or "A Bug's Life" because I haven't watched them in a really long time, and I don't remember anything sad in them.
